David Lutton (he/him) is a psychodynamic psychotherapist accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC). His approach offers clients the opportunity to get to know themselves more deeply — not just the parts shown to the world, but also those that feel hidden, conflicted, or harder to access. Through open-ended or time-limited work, David helps clients explore the patterns and experiences that shape how they feel, think, and relate to others.

He completed his clinical training at the British Psychotherapy Foundation, one of the UK’s leading training organisations in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Prior to this, he had a professional background in the UK and internationally. This experience gives him a particular sensitivity to the emotional impact of professional life — including anxiety, perfectionism, and the quiet cost of holding everything together. He works thoughtfully with clients navigating high-performance cultures, burnout, and the challenges of reconciling outer success with inner uncertainty.

Alongside his private practice, David is also a therapist at the Royal College of Art. His experience providing short-term therapy has informed his work helping people to make meaningful links between past experiences and present struggles. David spent several years at Gay Men’s Therapy, where he developed specific experience in working with sexuality, gender identity, and non-heteronormative relationships. This work continues to inform his practice and his belief that therapy should be a place where all parts of a person, even those that feel shameful, uncertain, or difficult to share, are welcomed without judgement.
