Anja holds a combined MA in International Commerce and Modern Language and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory & Practice. Prior to choosing a career in mental health, she worked several years for an international Project Management company.

Anja is a skilled BACP registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, who has worked extensively in suicide prevention. Starting out as a Samaritan volunteer in her 20’ies, led her to become the Deputy Director at Maytree (a residential respite for adults in suicidal crisis) and she is currently working as a Senior Suicide Prevention therapist at James’ Place (a charity offering short-term therapy to men in a suicidal crisis) alongside her private practice. Through her training and suicide prevention work, she has developed a warm and inclusive approach, tailored to help each individual client address more deep-seated emotional difficulties.

She has a breath of experience but has a particular interest in supporting individuals who have suffered childhood trauma.

Her career has also involved working as a Programme Counsellor at ITV This Morning, as well as supporting students with mental health difficulties and/or SEN, in university settings.
